Avis,
I rented a car from
Avis in Christchurch, New Zealand 2 weeks ago and because of the car's engine problem,
Avis charged us $225 for the excess charge while waiting for the inspection result, they said if the engine problem is not my fault, they will return me the excess charge. So they asked me to contact
Avis Singapore to find out the result because they said they will send you the inspection result. Below are the document details:
RA Document: 74xxxxxx5
Hirer Name: Cheng Ka Ki
Driving License No.: Sxxxxxxx
Thanks for your help and hope to hear from you soon.

Comment/ Feedback/ Question: I rented a car from Avis in Christchurch, New Zealand on 18 Aug 08 and because of the car's engine problem, Avis charged us $225 for the excess charge while waiting for the inspection result, they said if the engine problem is not my fault, they will return me the excess charge and also a report on the cause of engine cooked. So they asked me to contact Avis Singapore to find out the result because they said they will send them the inspection result. But after 2 weeks, I called up Avis Singapore and they said they sent an email to Avis New Zealand for further information. I sent another 2 more emails to them after a week but until now I didn't receive any report and follow up neither from Avis Singapore nor Avis New Zealand. I am very disappointed by the inconvenience this has caused me and hope that this matter will be attended more promptly as from now. Please inform me of the actions that Avis is taking currently, and how long more will you reply me with the results of the engine inspection.
AND FINALLY, WE RECEIVE OUR 1ST RESPONSE FROM AVIS.... ALTHOUGH IT JUST AN AUTO TEMPLATE REPLY.................

Hi KaKi,
Please see attached documentation for the above claim. Note that per assessment report, the vehicle (Camry-EGL28) hit an animal (rabbit) causing damage to radiator and engine. Since you opted for Excess Reduction, maximum amount of 225 + gst was deducted as excess. Total repair costs to the vehicle is 9672.44 (gst incl).
Regards
With such excellent service, not to mention the extreme helpfulness and great manners at the Avis NZ office, we definitely highly recommend friends to rent from Avis if u intend to go road trip holidays...!
